Wristband materials

What the band is actually made of. The three products on this site are constructions. These are the materials they are built from, and the material is what decides whether a band survives the season. Salt water, chlorine, sun cream and UV are the four things that destroy wristbands at a resort — each page below says plainly how that substrate handles all four, including where it does not.

Synthetic paper

Tyvek

Spunbonded polyethylene fibre. Feels like paper, behaves like fabric, and tears in a way that cannot be hidden.

Moulded elastomer

Silicone

Solid moulded elastomer. Not affected by salt water, chlorine or sun cream, which is what actually ends most wristbands.

Polyester weave

Woven fabric

Tightly woven polyester with the design in the weave. The most comfortable band for a stay measured in weeks.

Coated paper

Card stock under a laminate film. The cheapest way to carry a chip for a single day.

Recycled PET

Woven from post-consumer bottle fibre. Performs like standard polyester weave with a documented input.

Flexible PVC

Vinyl

Flexible PVC with a snap closure. Cheap, waterproof, and honestly worse than silicone for anything long.

Elastic knit

Cloth stretch

Seamless elastic knit with no closure at all. Nothing to snap, nothing to fail, nothing to adjust.

Regenerated plant fibre

Bamboo fibre

Bamboo pulp regenerated into spun yarn, then woven. Softer than cotton against skin, with a faint natural sheen the dye picks up.

Natural staple fibre

Organic cotton

Woven cotton with no synthetic content in the textile itself. The familiar material, chosen when the story has to be legible without explanation.

Bast fibre webbing

Hemp and jute

Coarse bast-fibre webbing with visible twist. The most textural band in the range, and the most obviously handmade.

Bark composite

Cork

Cork bark shaved into sheet and backed onto a textile carrier. Warm, light, water-shedding, and unlike anything else on a wrist.

Wood bead

Polished timber beads on elastic cord with a slim wooden RFID medallion. Reads as jewellery, works as a credential.

Semi-precious stone beads with an inline RFID medallion. Heavier than wood, cooler on the skin, and unmistakably a gift.

Marine rope

Braided marine cord with a wood or metal closure carrying the chip. Built for salt water and designed to look like it belongs on a boat.

Recycled content is stated per run and documented. We do not make broader environmental claims on your behalf — a band is not carbon neutral because its yarn was recycled, and overclaiming is the most common own goal in hospitality procurement.
