Braided cord

Marine rope

Marine cord is braided synthetic filament built to be wet permanently — the same construction logic as running rigging, at a wrist scale. It is the band to specify when the credential lives on a boat, a beach club or a water sports programme and has to look deliberate rather than industrial.

RFID wristbands

Bands carrying a transponder are encoded to the lock scheme your property already runs, before dispatch. All third-party marks are the property of their respective owners. Any reference indicates compatibility only and does not imply affiliation or endorsement.

Built for continuous salt exposure

Braided polyester and nylon cord does not absorb water into its structure the way natural fibre does, and does not lose strength when wet. Salt crystallises on the surface and rinses off. The braid also resists the abrasion that destroys flat bands: a round cord presents a rolling surface to whatever it rubs against instead of one fixed face.

The closure carries the technology

The chip sits in the closure — a sealed wooden barrel, a stainless clasp or a moulded fitting — rather than in the cord. That keeps the electronics in a rigid protected housing, which is the right approach when the band spends its life wet and knocked about. It also gives a single engraved surface for the property mark.

Adjustment and fit

A sliding knot or an adjustable clasp lets one length fit a wide range of wrists, so a property stocks fewer sizes than it would for a beaded band. The cord holds its adjusted position under load and does not creep. For water sports that matters: a band that loosens in the sea gets lost, and a lost band is a replacement plus an access problem.

What it is not for

It carries no printed graphics — branding is confined to the closure — so a property wanting a full-colour band is looking at the wrong material. There is limited tamper evidence on an adjustable closure. And a round cord is less comfortable under a watch strap or a sleeve cuff than a flat woven band, which matters for guests wearing it around the clock.
