Wood bead
This is the one band in the range guests keep deliberately. Polished timber beads are strung on elastic cord and a slim wooden medallion carries the chip and the engraving. Nothing about it looks like an access credential, which is exactly why the properties that specify it do so.

The medallion does the technical work
Beads cannot carry an antenna, so the chip lives in a flat wooden medallion strung inline with them. Keeping the electronics in one deliberate place means read behaviour is consistent and the guest learns instinctively which part to present. The medallion is also the branded surface: laser engraving on wood holds fine crests and small type that would be lost on a printed band.
Sizing without a closure
Elastic cord removes the closure problem and creates a sizing one. There is no adjustment, so a property stocks two or three lengths rather than one adjustable band, and the front desk has to pick correctly at issue. In exchange there is nothing to fasten, nothing to snag and no plastic slider interrupting the look.
Wood in a humid climate
Beads are sealed after polishing, which keeps moisture out of the timber and stops the surface roughening. Sealed beads handle pool and sea exposure over a normal stay without swelling. Unsealed timber in constant wet would eventually lift its grain, which is why the seal is part of the specification rather than a finishing nicety.
Where it fits, and where it does not
Spa programmes, wellness retreats, villa guests, returning members, weddings — populations where the band is part of the experience and cost per piece is not the deciding number. It is the wrong product for a thousand-room all-inclusive issuing daily, and it offers no tamper evidence at all: an elastic band comes off intact, so it cannot police an entitlement.
