Band 14
Marine rope RFID wristbands
Salt and sand are a different problem from chlorine. Salt crystallises in a weave as it dries and works like a fine abrasive every time the wrist moves; sand does the same from the outside. A braided marine cord is the one construction that treats that as normal service rather than as an edge case, which is why it is specified at beach clubs, dive centres and marinas.

Compatibility
Bands are encoded to work with the lock and point-of-sale systems your property already runs. We supply entry, standard and high-security HF transponders at 13.56 MHz, and 125 kHz where a property still runs a low-frequency estate.
Name the system on your enquiry and send a spare card if you have one. Bands arrive in sequential blocks, ready to issue, with nothing to program on site.
All third-party marks are the property of their respective owners. Any reference indicates compatibility only and does not imply affiliation or endorsement.
Substrates
Available in marine rope and hemp and jute.
The construction is fixed; the substrate is the decision. This is where wear period, water behaviour and unit price are actually settled.
Braided cord
Marine rope
Braided marine cord with a wood or metal closure carrying the chip. Built for salt water and designed to look like it belongs on a boat.
Material specificationBast fibre webbing
Hemp and jute
Coarse bast-fibre webbing with visible twist. The most textural band in the range, and the most obviously handmade.
Material specificationWhat salt actually does to a wristband
Sea water is not simply wet. As a band dries, dissolved salt recrystallises inside whatever structure it has soaked into, and those crystals are hard and angular. Every wrist movement then grinds them against the fibre from the inside. A woven polyester band that would last a month in a pool goes furry at the edges in about ten days of daily sea use, and the failure looks like poor quality rather than what it is: the wrong material for the water.
A tight braid resists this because there is far less internal void for salt to occupy and the load is carried by the braid geometry rather than by individual surface fibres. Abraded outer filaments do not weaken it meaningfully — a braided cord looks worn long before it is weak, which is the right way round for a credential someone is wearing.
The transponder cannot sit in a fabric pocket here, so it is housed in a sealed inline module moulded directly onto the cord. That puts the read point at a fixed position a guest can find by feel, and it removes the seam that a pocket would create. The module is the thickest part of the band and it is deliberately positioned to sit on the outside of the wrist rather than against the pulse point, where it would be pressed into skin under a wetsuit cuff.
A rinse is still worth asking for. Bands recovered at the end of a season and rinsed in fresh water are re-issuable; bands stored salt-loaded are not. That is a housekeeping instruction rather than a product feature, and it is the single cheapest thing a beach property can do to get a second season out of a run.
