Band 05

RFID fabric wristbands

A woven band is the compromise most resorts actually want for a one to three week stay. It is soft on a sunburnt wrist, it does not sweat like silicone under a watch strap, and a one-time plastic lock means it comes off with scissors or not at all. The artwork is woven into the fabric as thread, so it cannot fade — but that also fixes your design before the loom is set up.

Compatibility

Bands are encoded to work with the lock and point-of-sale systems your property already runs. We supply entry, standard and high-security HF transponders at 13.56 MHz, and 125 kHz where a property still runs a low-frequency estate.

Name the system on your enquiry and send a spare card if you have one. Bands arrive in sequential blocks, ready to issue, with nothing to program on site.

All third-party marks are the property of their respective owners. Any reference indicates compatibility only and does not imply affiliation or endorsement.

Woven thread, and the deadline it creates

On a printed band the artwork is a layer applied to a surface, and every layer eventually abrades. On a woven band the artwork is the surface: coloured thread carried through the weave on a jacquard loom, so the design goes all the way through the fabric. Turn the band over and the pattern is visible in negative. Nothing can wear off a band whose graphic is structural, which is why a woven band looks the same in week three as it did in week one while a printed one does not.

The cost of that is a hard commitment point. Setting a loom to a design is a real setup, and it is done once per artwork. Changing a colour after the loom is set is not an edit, it is a re-set. This is the one product in the range where "can we just make the logo slightly bigger" is genuinely expensive after approval, and it is why the proof stage on a woven run asks for more from a property than any other band we make.

Weave density decides how fine the artwork can be. A tight weave carries small type and thin rules; a satin weave looks better and blurs anything under about 4 mm. Property names longer than roughly fourteen characters need the tight weave or a shorter lockup, and we will say which before the run rather than shipping a band whose name is a smudge.

The transponder sits in a sealed pocket behind the closure, where the band is doubled and there is no flexion. That position is deliberate: the wrist bends at the sides, not at the clasp. It also puts the chip where a guest naturally presents the band to a reader, palm down, which removes most of the "hold it differently" coaching a front desk otherwise has to do in the first week.

What it is used for

  • Multi-day conferences and incentive groups
  • Wellness retreats where comfort decides the band
  • Any run where the design is fixed and the volume is high

What ships with the order

  • Material declaration for the substrate supplied
  • Transponder type and encoding record, per block
  • Batch and quantity reconciliation per carton
  • Artwork proof as approved, for your records
